We really enjoyed the gallery walk of time lines we did at school today. Students learned so much from researching famous people and reading the work of their classmates. Be sure to ask them who they learned about today in Social Studies!
As you already know, the second grade classrooms were affected by the water hose leak that happened earlier this week. This resulted in the loss of several school supplies in our classroom. These include construction paper, white copy paper, paper towels, and highlighters. If you would like to help us out by making a donation of any of these items, we would be greatly appreciative. Thank you in advance for your support.
Next week will be a busy week in our class. Students will be assessed in reading on their understanding the character's tone of voice based on their point of view in a text. In writing, students will finish their opinion piece, and then complete a transfer task for ELA unit 5. In math, students will continue to learn about place value, expanded form, skip counting, and comparing numbers through 1,000. Students will also continue to learn about partitioning circles and rectangles into fair shares and how arrays relate to both multiplication and division. Students will go to art, and then begin a 5 day rotation in music on Wednesday. A link to next week's homework can be found here.
Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Highest Regards,
Gina Weber
