Students will go to technology on Monday and Tuesday next week. Then, they will start a 5 day rotation of Art on Wednesday. Students will learn about stories told around the world. They will focus on understanding and writing about the central message of these fiction texts. In math, students will continue to add and subtract larger numbers. They will use this skill to solve word problems involving measurement. In social studies, students will continue to learn about geography.
Please read about your student's homework project in writing. Information can be found in your child's homework folder. Included is a description of the project and a Reader's Digest article explaining the importance of storytelling at home. This project will be an important part of our end of the unit assessment, and they are due no later than May 8th. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
We have finished adding words to our word wall! This will change the way we do our word wall tests. Students will now take a word wall paragraph test. A description of this test can be found on your child's homework page. An example of a paragraph and the scoring rubric can be found by clicking here. If you need quick access to our word wall, please visit the Word Wall page of this website.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Highest Regards,
Gina Weber
