Happy Derby Week! Students will have P.E. for related arts this week, so please remind them to dress appropriately. We will have school this Friday, Oaks Day, as a snow make-up day. Also, reading logs are due this Friday along with the Reading Log Challenge project. If anyone is interested in placing an online Scholastic Book order, please do so by this Friday. Friday is also a Relay for Life donation day. Your child may bring in a dollar and wear their favorite derby hat!
We have lots of exciting things going on in the month of May! Please mark your calendars for the following events:
Tie-Dying Shirts- Students need to have their shirts in by Monday, May 5th. As of now, we are planning on doing the actual tie-dying on Friday May, 9th, however I do not have a time scheduled for this just yet. Once the shirts are complete, we ask that students wear their shirt on our zoo field trip and on the last day of school. I think I have enough volunteers to help with the tie dying, but please let me know if you are available just in case.
Family Picnic and Spring Celebration! Our picnic will be on May 30th at 10:30, and we will celebrate spring with games and ice cream until 11:45.
Zoo Field Trip- May 23 from 9:00-2:00. All families are welcome to attend, however if you would like to be responsible for chaperoning a small group of students, please make sure your paperwork is complete in the office, and let me know so that I can arrange groups appropriately. I will have more details to come on this as well.
Highest Regards,
Gina Weber
