Mark Your Calendar!
Students will begin a 5 day rotation of music starting on Tuesday. Our in-house field trip will take place on Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 in the school library. We will also have picture day on Friday at 8:55.
Several families have asked about Raz-Kids. Please go to the Raz-Kids website, and log in under gweber7. If you see your child's name then you may get on Raz-Kids just as you have in the past. If you do not see your child's name, then select the name 'Weber.' Your child may read books from here, but please be aware that the books are not leveled for your child. You will need to help your child find a level that is just right for them. I will be sending home a suggested Raz-Kids level for all students next week. Remember that Raz-Kids will provide the most benefit to students if they use it daily!
A link to next week's homework can be found here. For TenMarks, I only included one math assignment this week for students who have completed all of their math assignments so far. If your child was unable to complete a past assignment, it is still on their assignment list. For those of you who want to do more math practice using TenMarks, you can do a 'Jam Session.' This is an extra service offered by Ten Marks for those who want to practice more number sense at home.
Next week, students will continue to study measurement, animal habitats, and asking questions before, during, and after reading. In writing, students will continue to work on writing with descriptive language and including adjectives in their paragraphs. Later in the week, we will begin our unit on weather and we will also start to read and discuss poetic devices (alliteration, rhythm, rhyming, and repetition).
Thank you for supporting your child's learning at home. Second grade parents are the best! Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Highest Regards,
Gina Weber
