Students had a special, Cat in the Hat visitor on Friday who gave each of them a reading buddy to read with at home! In addition, students also earned a reading camp out celebration for good behavior in the cafeteria. This Friday, students can bring in a flashlight, a small blanket, and their reading buddy. In the afternoon, we will turn the lights down and pretend we are reading at night with our flashlights.
Students will go to P.E. on Monday and Tuesday this week, and then begin a 5 day rotation of Technology on Wednesday. In reading, students will continue to think about the points of view of the main characters in the books they read. Students will also learn about verbs and how to use text evidence when responding to reading questions. In social studies, we will learn about time lines, and in math students will finish our current unit on addition and subtraction strategies. Our next unit will focus on our base 10 number system and place value. We will begin this at the end of the week. This week's homework can be found here. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
