Reading Log/ Homework Reminder
Don't forget to have your child complete their ScootPad homework this week! Students are asked to complete 2 practices in math and 2 practices in reading, as usual. Also, this will be the last week for our September Student Blog. Please encourage your student to participate! A new blog opportunity will be available in October.
Reading Logs are due this Friday! This is the last day of our September Reading Log Challenge. Please remind your student to read an article from Wonderopolis.com and to read a picture book that is appropriate for their reading level. The October Reading Log will begin on Sept. 27th. Be on the look out for a new Reading Log Challenge this Friday!
If you are interested in placing a Scholastic Book Club order for the month of September, please use the link on the Welcome page of this site. Don't forget to enter in the student access code! All book orders are submitted on the 28th of each month.
MAP Test Information
MAP testing will resume this Wednesday, Sept. 25th. Students will be taking the math test on this day. Please help them go to bed early the night before, and eat a healthy breakfast the morning of our MAP test. Our make-up test will take place on Friday, Oct. 4th. Students will take the language portion of the MAP test on this day.
Book Fair
Monday, Sept. 30th is our 'friends and family' day to shop at the Book Fair. If you or a loved one would like to shop with your student, please join us for lunch at 10:41. You can take your child (only) to the library for shopping after lunch. Please send in your Book Fair permission slip as soon as you can so we will know how many adults will be joining us on this day.
Students will have an additional opportunity to shop at the Book fair on Friday, October 4th. If your child is unable to shop on Monday, you can send money to school with your child for our whole class shopping day on Friday, Oct. 4.
If you happen to have a surplus of plastic grocery bags that you are looking to get rid of, please consider donating them to our class. We use them to throw away breakfast and snack trash so we don't have icky food garbage in our classroom trash cans. Thanks for your consideration and support!
Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Second Grade parents are the best!
