Thanks so much for all of your thoughtfulness and hard work in making Teacher Appreciation Week so special! I enjoyed the treats, supplies, flowers, the extra long fiesta lunch, and the many special cards and gifts so much. I know I can speak for all of the Crestwood Teachers when I say that Crestwood Families are the best!
May seems to be mark your calendar month. We have so many things going on at school right now. I will try to remember to inlcude all of our special dates, but please let me know if you have any questions about any of the upcoming events we have going on at school. I will do my best to answer all of your questions.
This week, students will go to music on Monday and Tuesday before starting a 5 day rotation of P.E. on Wednesday. If you haven't turned in your white t-shirt, or your family story please do so as soon as possible, Students will be writing another draft or two of their family story before publishing it using the Aurasma app on the iPads. This will be a big part of their end of the unit assessment. We will also be tie-dying the shirts this Friday!
Students will take the MAP test in math this Wednesday and the language test on Thursday. Please help your child get a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast the night before these assessments. Friday will be the last day to check out books in the school library, and all books are due back by Friday, May 22.
Our Field Trip is scheduled for Friday, May 29th. Remember to turn in your lunch order form if you will need a bag lunch from the school cafeteria. I have extras of these, so please let me know if you need them. Otherwise, plan on sending a bag lunch to school with your child on this day. If you would like to be a chaperone, please let me know if you haven't done so already. Also, please make sure you have an updated criminal records check on file in the office. I will send out more information to parent chaperones as we get closer to the date, but feel free to email any thoughts or questions to me in the meantime.
A link to this week's homework can be found here. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Second grade parents are the best!
Highest Regards,
Gina Weber
