Students will go to P.E. on Monday and on Tuesday this week. They will begin a 5 day rotation of technology on Wednesday. Don't forget that STEM Fest is this Thursday from 5:30-8:00. All are welcome! Students who are coming have been asked to complete a writing activity prior to attending. This is not mandatory, but will give students a way to understand what STEM is and how it can be found in careers and in our everyday lives.
In ELA, students will continue to read informational texts about the way people live around the world. In writing, students will write focused paragraphs explaining the central message of these texts. Students will learn how to include text evidence and how to write a closing sentence. in Social Studies, students will continue to add to our Scribble Map as we learn fun facts about people across the globe. In math, students will continue to learn about fractions, and we will begin a new unit which focuses on problem solving with time, money, and measurement. Please practice telling time and working with coins and bills at home. If you would like to have your student work on Front Row Math, please focus on Measurement and Data. A link to this week's homework can be found here.
I will be placing a book order on April 28th. Please have all orders in by then. Also, we will be going to the Louisville Zoo on May 29th. Be sure to save this data as all families are invited to attend. More information will come as we get closer to the date. Please let me know if you have any comments, questions, or concerns.
Highest Regards,
Gina Weber
