Students will continue to go to P.E. until Wednesday. On Thursday they will begin a 5 day rotation of technology. In ELA, students will continue to work on Determining Importance as they read and compare fairy tales by different authors or from different cultures. Students will also write paragraphs explaining the comparisons. In Math students will finish our mini-unit on graphing and possibly begin geometry by the end of the week. In science, students will begin to read and learn about matter.
Please visit the Word Wall page for an updated look at how our class word wall has grown this year. Also, please encourage your student to participate in our Student Blog for the month of November if they haven't done so already. Last week, studets learned how to use two websites to find just right now books in our school library. Please visit the newly created page titled- Choosing Books - for quick links to both of these useful book finding resources. Finally, a new math practice website has been added to the Learning Links page! Many parents asked at conferences about other options for practicing math at home in addition to TenMarks. Students can use Front Row for continued leveled practice in math concepts. I hope you and your students enjoy this free resource. This week's homework can be downloaded here.
Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, and don't forget to be a Caring Cougar! Second grade parents are the best!
