Our Dr. Seuss celebration on Friday was so much fun!
We had a special visitor in the morning, we learned 5 fun facts about Dr. Seuss from our 'Scholastic News' magazine, we read Dr. Seuss books books with our 5th grade buddies, and we explored how characters change in a story as we watched the movie, Horton Hears a Who! Be sure to check out the photos below from Friday's events.
I have extended the due date for our student blog project to Friday, March 14th. Every entry will be included in Crestwood's Writer of the Month and every student who participates will get a homework pass for a week off of ScootPad during the month of April. There will also be additional prize drawings for all participants, so please encourage your student to read and write about an award winning book. Please see the student blog for details, and remember that entries can be submitted on the blog, or directly to me on paper!
Students will have art next week, and Wednesday we will begin our spring MAP test. Please make sure students get plenty of sleep and eat a healthy breakfast especially since we will be springing our clocks forward this week!
Below is an additional message regarding a make-up snow day. Please read it carefully and mark your calendars!
Make-up day announcement:
Upon recommendation by the superintendent, we are using May 2nd as the make-up day for Monday’s cancellation. This is the day previously scheduled off for Oaks Day. This keeps the last day of school for students June 6th.
Have a great weekend!
Highest Regards,
Gina Weber
