Dear Students,
One of the best things about being a teacher is that I get to have two New Year's resolutions, one for the new calendar year and one for the new school year! Just to get our year off to a great start, I thought we could share a resolution or a goal we have for ourselves this school year. Maybe you want to focus on becoming a better reader or mathematician. Maybe you want to work at making meaningful friendships, or maybe you want to learn a new game or sport. Whatever you decide, remember to keep it simple and easily attainable.
My resolution is to minimize multi-tasking! In order to have more fun with my family and get more done in the classroom, I resolve to focus more on one thing at a time. Research shows that individuals do best when they concentrate on doing one task and not several tasks at the same time. I'm not sure how simple this will be for me, but if it's going to help me at home and at school it's definitely worth a try!
So now it's your turn. Please spend some time thinking about your school-year's resolution. Talk about it with your family and think of ways they can help you attain your goal. Then, post your resolution on this blog telling what it is and why it's meaningful for you. I can't wait to read what you have to share!
Your Teacher,
Ms. Weber
