Since the first day of school, we have been talking about taking learning risks and having a spirit of endurance for learning. We watched an interview with Diana Nyad who talked about how her endurance was sometimes low during her long and challenging swim from Cuba to Florida, and how she was able to raise her endurance on her own to reach her life-long goal. You are invited to have a discussion with your family about what it means to have a spirit of endurance for your learning, what it means to take learning risks at school, and why we must have to courage to try new things at school. I'm also going to challenge you to find and read a book about having courage and/ or endurance. This will make a great choice for your reading log picture book requirement. You can also include the title and author of your book in your comment below. Please also post anything about your family discussion, and remember to use first names or initials only.
