Our Student Council has several things going on for the month of November. Please be a caring cougar and donate non-perishable items for our food baskets. We are also asking for personal care items and children's book's. If you are interested in purchasing a red poinsettia for the holidays, the student council is selling them for $10.00. Order forms for poinsettias will go home on Tuesday, and they are due by Nov. 30.
Students learned how to use the school's library system, Destiny, to find books. This is a great resource they can access from home to see what books we have in our school library. Please consider using Destiny to help your child choose Just Right Now books.
Students will visit the library for checkout on Tuesday next week, so please remind them to return their books if they will need a new one. Wednesday is early release day, and Thursday students will begin a 5 day rotation in P.E.
Next week, students will continue to learn how to use text based evidence to support deeper thinking about the text they read, and they will learn how to form irregular plural nouns. Students are still working on writing complete paragraphs with a topic sentence, 3 detail sentences, and a closing sentence. In math, students will continue to build and analyze data in both bar and picture graphs. In science, students will read to understand, What Causes Rain?
Students came home today with next week's homework, but a link to it can also be found here. The next assignment in TenMarks is also available. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Second grade parents are the best!
