I wish all of you a warm and wonderful start to 2014! After this long break, I hope everyone is ready to get back into our regular school routines. While I am not looking forward to the early morning cold temperatures, I am eager to get back to school to see the kids again! I am sure they are excited to see their friends as well.
Since I can't say what the weather will bring at the start of the week, I will let you know that the first day back to school will be day 4 for music, the second day will be day 5 for music, and the third day will be day 1 for P.E. Please make sure your student is prepared for P.E. class sometime this week, and make sure they dress appropriately for the cold weather.
Mark your calendars! The make-up days for the two snow days we had before the holiday break are February 17th and May 27th. The calendars on the school and district websites have been updated to reflect these changes.
Wish List: We are in need of the following donations to our class- paper towels for cleaning up water bottle spills, hand sanitizer to ward off nasty winter germs, and tissues for coughs, colds, and sneezes. Any donations will be greatly appreciated by our class.
Finally, we had several changes to the schedules of our parent volunteers. If you are planning on volunteering, or would like to donate your time as a volunteer, please let me know. I mostly need help with taking students to the mini-lab on Mon.-Thurs. from 8:30-9:00, but could also use help with copying, laminating, etc. Just let me know your availability and how you would like to assist our class.
I can't wait to hear about the exciting things our students did over the winter break! Thanks so much for everything you do to support our class. Second grade parents are the best!
Highest Regards,
Gina Weber
