Welcome!
Dear Families,
Welcome to second grade! I am very excited to be starting my 10th year of teaching at Crestwood Elementary. I began my teaching career at Liberty Elementary right here in Oldham County, and after giving birth to my oldest daughter I took some time off and later worked as an instructional coach for teachers in JCPS. This is my third year teaching 2nd grade at Crestwood Elementary.
Just to let you know a little bit about myself, I have a bachelors degree in Communications from the University of Louisville, and a masters in teaching degree from Bellarmine University. In 2012, I received my National Board Certification, and in 2013 I was honored to be one of the top 25 finalist for the Ashland KY Teacher of the Year. I have a wonderful husband of 8 years who is the principal at St. Rita School in Louisville, KY. I also have two beautiful little girls, Maddie Mae (6) and Clara Bess (4).
I look forward to getting to know each of you, and working as partners to help your child reach their goals throughout the school year. Please know that my door is open to you, and I am always happy to discuss anything at any time! I check my e-mail often, so that is usually the best and easiest way to quickly communicate. You can contact me at: [email protected]
This site is intended for all of us to stay connected throughout the school year. Please visit the Dear Family Blog where I will post messages about daily/weekly happenings and answer questions regarding our schedule, field trips, etc. The Newsletter page will allow you to know the topics being taught in class, and how you can help your child at home. The Dear Student Blog will be updated monthly and is intended to enhance the lessons being taught in the classroom. For safety reasons, please make sure your student is monitored closely by an adult while using the internet. I also created a page detailing Birthdays, Snacks, and Water Bottles. Please read it prior to the first day of school! There are lots of other important pages on this site, and more will be added throughout the year! Thank you in advance for supporting your child's education. I'm looking forward to a great school year!
Yours in Teaching,
Gina Weber
